Hi, my name is Obed Dadzie and I am one in a million. This is my cause.

The subject of reduced Inequality brings to mind two main questions

● What exactly is Inequality and what does a reduction of it look like?

● How does it affect the why and why is it even a subject of discussion.

Having been born and raised a black kid in the Western Part of Africa and not coming from a very affluent home, “Inequality” may be a foreign word but not a new experience.

A daily occurrence and experience of the menace compelled me to understand that it may have developed human behavior based on preferences yet not an acceptable situation.

My skin played a role, my background played a role, everything about me played a role and with time did I realize that even gender plays a role.

Inequality is what I term as disrespect for diversity because of societal manufactured standards of acceptance. So does Karl Marx explain in the marxists theory that inequality is a functional component of the capitalist mode of production which directly produces inegalitarian social structures. The Ideology of Inequality which is mainly developed from the concept of capitalism can be regarded as one of the root causes of so many global problems such as Climate Change, gender inequality, racial injustice, poverty and related subjects.

Destroying the environment with the aim of gaining affluence and promoting growth based on the disrespect for the environment, prioritization of ones wealth to the well-being of a large group of people , definition and categorization of a group of people based based on the idea of superiority of power are all pieces of definitions amongst various others that sum up to define inequality. As a young person I see this as a situation that will have a huge effect on the future that I hope for and makes it more of a responsibility to take action now than later.

The main and most important question here is what am I doing in order to reach the global destination of equality.

I strongly believe that advocacy is a strong way to reach the goal.

My ability to consistently raise my voice against the injustices that happen around me and not only to me. My ability to take positive action through empowerment and being that exact change that I wish to see as well as developing the ideology of equality and equity goes a long way into making the dream reality.

As a Global Youth Ambassador and a Youth leader, I try my best to use my position to build a diverse and inclusive environment which enables people to put away the societal structures and learn to understand from a variety of other groups of people and what they go through.

I believe this helps to decolonize negative mindsets that people grew up with and build an environment where all is seen equal and worth the respect, care and investment
