1M2030 Launch Event Report

1M2030, launched by the Global Challenges Forum Foundation, is an innovative project with the goal of raising “one million youth leaders for sustainable development” (1M2030) around the world, by and beyond 2030.

The event was held on September 27th, 2019 at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and it featured international experts and inspiring youth leaders who explored how this new generation of talented youth may mobilize towards fostering and implementing the SDGs and beyond. Young leaders from India, Zambia, Morocco, and the US showed how they were able to develop creative social-entrepreneurial projects that have been making a difference and creating impact in their countries.

The second phase of the 1M2030 project, currently being planned, will aim to identify and form youth leaders in countries of the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). The pilot phase will be focused on the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank.
